“When deciding where to practice, I was immediately impressed with the quality of comprehensive care that Bone & Joint provides — all elements of musculoskeletal healthcare are being addressed in one place,” Dr. Leonardelli said. “Bone & Joint aligns effortlessly with my patient care philosophy to treat the person and not the condition or injury. I want to understand how these conditions affect my patients, their quality of life and their livelihood.”
Dr. Leonardelli completed his medical education at Creighton University School of Medicine, followed by an orthopedic surgery residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego. He completed his fellowship at the Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center at Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Leonardelli is affiliated with several professional organizations such as the American Orthopedic Association, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Society of Military Orthopedic Surgeons.
Dr. Leonardelli has a robust military background, having served as an orthopedic surgeon in the United States Navy for over 20 years, retiring in 2024. His service included deployments both overseas and stateside, participation in humanitarian missions and specific roles during the COVID pandemic on the USNS Mercy and within the Navy’s Expeditionary Resuscitative Surgical System (ERSS).
