Dr. Sahota diagnoses and manages musculoskeletal pain disorders, including the treatment of back and neck pain, pinched nerves, and sciatica pain. She also treats chronic pain caused by arthritis, myofascial, central, and complex regional pain syndromes, headaches, migraine, and low back injuries. Dr. Sahota\u00a0cares for people suffering from muscle and nerve spasms, spinal disc ruptures, and sacroiliac joint pain.<\/p>\n
To diagnose the cause of her patient\u2019s pain, Dr. Sahota\u00a0uses electrodiagnostic testing (EMG\/NCS), ultrasound and X-rays. Depending on the type and cause of a patient\u2019s pain, Dr. Sahota prescribes physical therapy, Botox injections, percutaneous tenotomy, or Tenex, platelet-rich plasma (PRP). In other instances, Dr. Sahota uses spinal cord stimulation, spinal epidural steroid injections, spinal radiofrequency ablation, medial branch blocks, stem cell injections, or steroid joint injections to\u00a0resolve her patient’s pain.<\/p>\n
Dr. Sahota received her medical degree from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey, in Newark, New Jersey. She completed her residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and at Moss Rehabilitation Hospital in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n
Dr. Sahota completed her Interventional Spine & Pain Management fellowship with \u00a0Performance Spine & Sports Physicians in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n
Dr. Sahota is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. She is a member of the International Spine Intervention Society, the North American Spine Society, the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the American Pain Society, and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.<\/p>\n
\u201cI like to talk to my patients and learn more about their pain,\u201d said Dr. Sahota. \u201cThen we try targeted physical therapy and conservative treatment to see what the patient’s body responds to best. If the patient\u2019s condition does not improve, we talk about our options for interventional pain management procedures.\u201d<\/p>\n
