Your program will meet the most advanced orthopedic standards whether an injury, illness, or a surgical procedure brings you through the doors.<\/p>\n

We want to get you back to your daily life and your hobbies with as much range of motion as physically possible.<\/p>\n

Your goals guide your treatment plan.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

You are the key member of your therapy team.<\/p>\n

Without your input, your therapist will just be going through the motions.<\/p>\n

Before the therapist can customize your treatment plan, he or she needs to know about your lifestyle, your daily living activities, and the hobbies you enjoy. This information helps your therapist develop the best course of treatment to increase your mobility, so you can live your life to its fullest.<\/p>\n

But your therapy treatments only work as hard as you do.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Physical and occupational therapy create small improvements in movement over time.<\/p>\n

At first, being able to move at all will require work and sometimes discomfort as your ligaments and muscles re-learn how to stretch and flex.<\/p>\n

Rehabilitation therapy will be some of the hardest work you\u2019ll ever do in your life; but if you\u2019re up to the challenge, it will be worth it.<\/em><\/p>\n

Your commitment to keep appointments and complete your homework is critical to your success.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

You may need to schedule a time to do your homework exercises.\u00a0 Pick the time of day when you have the most energy, and then just take 15 to 20 minutes and get your homework done.<\/p>\n

Sometimes you\u2019ll breeze through your exercise routine.<\/p>\n

At other times, your prescribed exercises may be hard. You may even sweat.<\/p>\n

Always talk to your therapist about the level and type of discomfort you feel during an exercise. Some sensations may be normal as your joints and ligaments limber up and become more flexible. But pain may indicate a problem.<\/p>\n

Your therapist will determine if you should continue the exercise or if it needs to be modified in some way to achieve the goal without pain or further injury.<\/p>\n

Your therapist will track and monitor your progress.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Physical therapy works your muscles while it builds strength and endurance. This takes time, effort, and commitment. You may not be able to see the results right away. But stick with it. After a few weeks, you\u2019ll see a difference.<\/p>\n
