Juntunen, MD, to their team of highly trained orthopedic experts.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Juntunen provides non-operative orthopedic and sports medicine care to athletes and non-athletes of all ages and disciplines. She cares for fractures, chronic and acute injuries, overuse injuries, strains, sprains, and bursitis. Dr. Juntunen also treats stress fractures, frozen shoulder, and tendonitis. Her goal is to create an individualized treatment plan that will meet her patient\u2019s needs and future goals.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Juntunen has a special interest in helping endurance athletes, cyclists, runners, and triathletes perform at their highest level. She wants to help them avoid injury as they push their personal boundaries to achieve their personal best.<\/p>\n<h6>\u201cWe\u2019re excited Dr. Juntunen has joined our team,\u201d said Dr. Benjamin Hackett, president of Bone &amp; Joint. \u201cHer experience treating performance athletes combined with her fellowship training at the prestigious, Andrews Sports Medicine &amp; Orthopedic Center\u2014one of the top-ranked sports medicine fellowships in the country\u2014brings another level of sports medicine expertise to the people in northern and central Wisconsin.\u201d<\/h6>\n<p>Dr. Juntunen earned her undergraduate degree in zoology and biomedical sciences at the University of Oklahoma. She received her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and completed her residency in family medicine at Scottsdale Healthcare in Scottdale, Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Juntunen completed her sports medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute at Andrews Sports Medicine &amp; Orthopedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama.<\/p>\n<p>An avid cyclist, Dr. Juntunen draws on her personal experiences to relate to her athletic patients when they experience injuries. She understands the physical and emotional impact a serious injury causes during training or competition.
